Hello, my name is Marissa Hancock. I'm going to tell you a little bit about my background, as I know choosing a counselor can be daunting. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with an MEd in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Indiana University. Over the years, I have served an ethnically and culturally diverse population. I work with all ages in private practice, addressing many concerns such as severe mental illness, complex trauma, PTSD, life changes or direction struggles, family-related distress, parenting and developmental concerns, and couples counseling, to name a few. For the past 10 years, I have also worked with K-12 students in a school setting, tackling issues like ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, family concerns, bullying, LGBTQ+ matters, depression, anxiety, and more. I practice trauma-informed care in everything I do, as my background is specifically in trauma treatment. I am comfortable working with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders. I approach each client with dignity and respect and am easy to talk to, always aiming to create a safe and non-judgmental environment. I want to meet clients where they are presently and work at a pace that feels comfortable for them toward their desired goals. I understand that trusting a stranger with your biggest struggles is difficult. I firmly believe that a strong therapeutic alliance between counselor and client is essential for success. I work hard to honor this truth and provide help in a genuine and authentic way.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
