“Martha is very good at listening to my problems and then identifying the root of it. We explore the root of the problems and how it affects my current life and what steps can be taken or what can be changed so I don't stay in the same negative cycle. I really appreciate that she gives me the time and space to figure things out myself instead of spoonfeeding me the answer (unless I really don't see the bigger behavior at play). I recommend her if you're willing to face the issues upfront and have someone keep you accountable for it.”

“Martha is an amazing therapist that I can relate to and look up to. She always uplifts me and holds me accountable of my actions. She will also give you assignments to keep up with to discuss at the next therapy session. I was seeking therapy after a diagnosis I had and that literally took over my mind. I would cry daily from being in such a dark space, but then she made me realize that there are ways to cope with those thoughts. I still have my days, but since being in therapy with her for about a year and a half I have learned so much about myself and my triggers. She has heed me in other ways also and she is totally relatable! I highly recommend Martha for all forms of therapy. ”

Getting to know Martha Lopez-Fowler

*New clients will receive an invitation email from Simple Practice client portal. All intake forms will be sent to new clients from that portal.* I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Texas and Colorado. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and my master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 2011. I have been providing therapy and counseling services since 2016. I work with adults facing anxiety and stress, relationship or couples concerns, and life transitions such as breakups or divorce, career burnout, new parenthood, empty nesting, relocation, or identity changes. Therapy offers space to process these shifts and build clarity and resilience. I became a therapist to support positive growth and well-being. I enjoy guiding people to navigate challenges, build healthy coping skills, and make choices that lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life. Witnessing clients gain confidence, resilience, and hope is truly rewarding.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with clients, I take time to deeply understand how you experience your life. Through support and nonjudgmental curiosity, I help explore what lies beneath the surface to foster insight, clarity, and growth. Together we will examine experiences. core beliefs you hold about yourself and where you may have learned them, values you have and how your choices do or do not support them, and when and how you limit yourself or get in your own way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll focus on building a genuine connection and learning more about you—your background, current challenges, and goals. This time together helps me create a personalized plan to guide our future sessions. A typical follow up therapy session is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. Sessions begin by checking in on what feels most important to address that day, whether it involves current stressors, relationship concerns, emotional patterns, or life transitions.
