Psychotherapist
GA
Although life can present us with overwhelming and unexpected challenges, it also offers opportunities for healing and growth. It is during these times that an understanding and objective person can be especially helpful. My name is Maya Butler, and as a Board-Certified Professional Counselor with a Master?s degree in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University, I work with individuals to help them gain more control over their lives, emotions, thoughts, behaviors, spirituality, and relationships. My approach With over 8 years of clinical experience in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, and private practice, I have worked extensively with mental health and substance use disorders. My central focus is to utilize an eclectic therapy approach to assist individuals in creating and maintaining what they desire for themselves. Together, we explore the underlying causes of daily living challenges, work on changing problem behaviors, habits, and thoughts, and discover better ways to cope with life?s difficulties. One aspect of being a Professional Counselor I take great joy in is embracing, educating, and empowering the individuals I work with to become who they desire to be. My focus I work with clients facing family conflict, grief, intimacy-related issues, parenting challenges, career difficulties, depression, compassion fatigue, communication problems, feelings of emptiness, forgiveness, guilt and shame, isolation and loneliness, life purpose questions, men?s and women?s issues, and workplace concerns. My communication style During therapy sessions, my primary goal is to listen deeply as clients share their experiences and to apply various therapeutic approaches that support them in creating and maintaining the life they want. My journey to therapy I enjoy working with clients in a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can be themselves. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in becoming who you desire to be.
