I am Mea Parker, Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Counseling from Rosemont College. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in community agencies and outpatient settings. I utilize a strength-based, client-centered approach to increase self-esteem and to explore and decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. I believe therapeutic tools such as empowerment, self-exploration, compassion, and empathy increase hope in people, allowing them to heal and become their best selves. My approach I use a client-centered and humanistic approach. Through compassion, unbiased judgment, and unconditional positive regard, I integrate a variety of modalities including traditional talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. My focus I am compassionate about working with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relational tension, and low self-esteem. My communication style I strive to create a safe place of peace and comfort. You will be surrounded by empathy and compassion. I lead with empathetic understanding and an empowering communicative style. My journey to therapy Previously working in the foster care and adoption field as a social worker, I pursued a degree in counseling with the goal of playing a more direct and supportive role in the therapeutic process.
