Psychotherapist

Hi, I'm Meghan! I am a queer, non-monogamy affirming, kink-aware, and culturally humble therapist. In the therapy room, I show up with a sense of compassion, warmth, and curiosity with each client. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is collaborative—a space brave enough for you to show up vulnerably with yourself and others. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. As an attachment-based therapist, I believe that relationships shape how we make sense of our lives and influence how we show up in the world. Relationships can create our biggest love and biggest pain. These experiences can nurture our innate strengths or cause us to form protections to hide ourselves. When working with any relationship in individual, partner, or sex therapy, my hope is that we discover the ways and the whys behind our protections. As we grow into this understanding, we can offer compassion and embrace our wholeness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with you I take the time the get to know the whole you. I learn about your relationships, your experiences, and how they have influenced the ways you are struggling today. Together we work to understand the underlying cause(s) and work to unburden these parts so that you may have greater connection and confidence in life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When starting with a new client we engage in a free consultation to determine if we are a good fit for the support your are looking for. After determining this we may move forward with scheduling an intake appointment where we will get the chance to learn more about what is bringing you to therapy, what support you are looking for, and what you are looking for in a therapist. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in creating change and want to support you in finding a therapist that allows you to feel safe and brave enough to take on the discomforts of therapy. Whether that is with me or someone else I will work with you to find the right care. After the intake session and determining we are a good fit we move into the therapeutic work. Here is where we take the time to get to know the whole you and the experiences you have had that have led to the current day struggle(s). I utilize an attachment-based and experiential approach in order to move towards greater self-acceptance and connection with self and others.
