As a mother of two boys who love to stay busy with sports, I understand the complexities of balancing family life with personal and professional goals. With experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, I recognize that therapy can sometimes feel intimidating. However, I believe that having a safe and confidential space to 'land' holds immense value in our lives. We often find ourselves worrying about the future, living with regrets, and striving to achieve our goals, whether in our personal lives, family dynamics, or work environments. My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, ensuring that your unique needs and strengths are at the core of our work together. For fifteen years, I worked at Family Preservation Services in Roanoke, VA, and the surrounding areas, engaging in community-based work in various roles. I supported adults with severe mental health diagnoses in developing daily living skills and accessing essential services. In the public school setting, I provided Therapeutic Day Treatment Services to children whose mental health needs disrupted their school day and overall functioning. My experience in intensive in-home counseling involved providing up to 10 hours of counseling within the family system, helping children in their natural settings. As the Roanoke Regional Director, I honed skills that are invaluable for navigating the workplace and managing both self and others. Additionally, I provided outpatient counseling and licensure supervision for candidates seeking to become licensed in VA. Since October 2019, I have been working as an Employee Assistance Consultant, addressing various personal and work-related needs.
