Getting to know Melissa Tucker

I have over a decade of experience working with adults who are navigating challenges such as chronic illness, anxiety, depression, grief, and caregiver stress. With over a decade of experience, I use evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to support clients in developing effective coping strategies and reconnecting with what matters most to them. I am passionate about partnering with my clients to create lives with hope, dignity, and agency.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you begin working with me, you can expect a compassionate and structured process. We’ll start by exploring your current experiences and identifying the goals you’d like to achieve through therapy. I like to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because it emphasizes psychological flexibility, values, and committed action. Together, we can approach challenges in a way that identifies your values and goals, and address thoughts and behaviors that may be interfering with them. I also use grief counseling to help heal the losses that can come with life changes, caregiving, and illness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is collaborative and flexible, always tailored to your unique needs and experiences. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply looking for a space to reflect and grow, I’m here to support you on your path forward.
