“I am enjoying working with Mia. I was really worried/anxious about transitioning to a new clinician after having worked so closely with another one for almost 4 years. I appreciate that Mia asks many follow up questions because it indicates her desire to really get a sense of what I’m experiencing and or she wants to better understand/communicate with me.””

Getting to know Mia Wajnrajch

If you’re feeling stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand - like people-pleasing, shame, or behaviors you wish you could change, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are navigating big life transitions, healing from complex trauma, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. Therapy can be a place to slow down, get curious, and begin to shift those patterns with compassion rather than judgment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with teens through middle-aged adults, drawing from my experience in outpatient programs, inpatient psychiatric care, and private practice. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which means we’ll look at both your thoughts and behaviors and the deeper parts of you that learned these patterns as a way to cope. In our sessions, you don’t have to have the right words or a clear goal. We’ll meet exactly where you are. Whether we’re unpacking something that happened this week or gently exploring long-standing patterns rooted in shame or self-protection, my priority is helping you feel safe, understood, and supported.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that even the parts of you that you struggle with deserve empathy. When we stop fighting ourselves and start listening with care, real healing becomes possible. If you’re ready to better understand yourself and create change that feels sustainable and authentic, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
