Getting to know Micah Brady

With over 20 years of post-graduate experience, Micah has a diverse background in child and family systems, inpatient, sub-acute and residential youth settings, supervised interns and master’s level graduates in child welfare and medical social work settings, was a field Instructor with Howard University, provided therapy at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to veterans and family members, and outpatient provide practice care to children, teen, and adults.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Micah has many certificates and trainings that help teens, couples, and adults in therapy. Some include, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP)? Post graduate certification specifically around the research, neuroscience, and treatment of different types of anxiety including social anxiety, phobias, general, perfectionism and OCD. CATP- Certified Child & Adolescent Trauma Professional Post graduate training specifically in treatment of child and adolescent trauma including neuroscience, attachment, expressive arts and maladaptive coping. CTC- Certified Trauma Clinician One year post graduate program through University of Maryland, 2006 on lifespan trauma impact, treatment including harm reduction model with Lisa Ferenz and numerous other faculty and guests.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Micah is passionate about helping others learn and grow, conquer their anxieties, and build on their strengths to get the most out of their lives and relationships. She is compassionate, responsive, and an “outside the box” thinker. Micah also values a collaborative, responsive, casual but professional approach and has both a personality and a sense of humor that clients seem to connect to. She can be direct, and give concrete recommendations, but this is balanced with kindness, patience, and no judgment.
