Psychotherapist
OH
Hi, I'm Dave Clay, a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in practice since 1985. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Marshall University and a Doctor of Ministry from Freedom Bible College. I work with individuals and families, from children to adults, helping them find and experience the best life available. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotional Processing Therapies (EPT and EMDR). My practice is open to anyone who believes they can benefit from clinical counseling, regardless of their presenting concerns. Whether dealing with depression, anxiety, family, or marital/relationship difficulties, I support clients in continuing to grow personally. My communication style is compassionate and encouraging, yet focused on getting better. I am authentic and genuinely relatable-honest, straightforward, direct, and practical. My journey to mental healthcare is rooted in an essential capacity to be empathetic and relatable, coupled with an innate desire to help and assist others. My goals for you are conversational and relationship-based, grounded in mutual respect and integrity. I emphasize the highest level of collaboration, with the patient holding the final say in what values-wise works best for them. During our first session, we will identify and agree upon what is going on and the significance it holds. You will gain a better understanding of the clinical aspects of care, with clear and concise treatment goals and objectives established. You will also receive immediate support and feedback.
