Getting to know Michelle Parker

The provider is an Associate Clinical Social Worker and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is The Wellness Collective. Michelle is not in-network with insurance, so please check the "Additional information regarding payments and coverage" section. She is a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Are you a 20-something overwhelmed with all the uncertainty that comes with this phase of life? Or maybe you're an adult functioning day-to-day, but sick of feeling so anxious all the time. Maybe you're navigating neurodivergence in a neuro-normative world. Maybe your child is struggling to find their place in middle or high school. Maybe you're not even sure what you need yet - you just know you or your family could use a little support. Therapy is an incredible way to show ourselves holistic care, and it can look different for everyone. My way of working is not one-size-fits-all. I meet you where you are at. I pull from therapy modalities I think would be most helpful for you, and we talk through the plan together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a warm, non-judgmental, strengths-based, and collaborative approach rooted in respect and a sense of humor. My goal is to provide a relaxed and encouraging space to connect and explore your emotions and your identity. I have been trained in a client-centered, culturally sensitive, strength-based, trauma-informed approach to therapy. I aim to help you feel empowered while acknowledging your intersecting identities in our work together. My goal is to truly understand how your unique experiences have shaped who you are today.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide individual therapy online and in-person for young adults, teens, and families navigating concerns related to anxiety, depression, issues related to ADHD/ Autism/ neuro-divergence, life transitions, family conflict, school or career-related stress, identity-related matters, perfectionism, self-esteem, people-pleasing, relationships, and friendships.

In-network insurances

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $200 for 50 minutes
Ongoing session: $200 for 50 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay

More information on payments and coverage

Individual 50-minute session fee: $200 *Accessible and affordable mental health treatment is a priority. If my fee feels like a barrier, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to discuss options, including a limited number of sliding scale spots or referrals to more affordable resources. Cash, check, and all major credit cards accepted as forms of payment I am considered an “out-of-network” provider for most insurance PPO plans, which means that our sessions will be my standard rate. I can provide a monthly superbill - this is an itemized receipt of your mental health services that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many insurance companies provide out-of-network reimbursement once you have met your deductible. I strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn what options are available to you. Here is a list of questions to ask your insurance provider to help you gain a better understanding of what it is like to work with an out-of-network provider: 1. What are my out-of-network mental health benefits? 2. Do I need an approval from my primary care physician? 3. Do I need to complete an authorization form for behavioral health services? 4. What is my deductible and how much of it has been met? 5. Is there a number of sessions or a duration of time that my sessions will be covered? If so, when do I need to renew? 6. What is the reimbursement rate to work with an out-of-network provider? 7. How do I submit my superbill for reimbursement?
