What should a new client know about working with you?

The foundation of my work as a therapist is the knowledge that being attuned to your needs in a therapeutic relationship will make lasting positive change in your life. If you are looking for a therapist who actively participates in meaningful discussion and exploration of your issues while deeply listening, you’ve found the right fit. I listen intently and offer a secure and compassionate holding environment for you to explore your path, while providing expert reflective feedback to help you relieve your distress. This helps you heal, feel better, and have more volition over choices you make in life. By identifying unconscious ways in which mental health issues and life challenges contribute to dysfunction, discord and emotional pain, you can begin to take your life back, gain stability and balance, and feel free of the angst that kept you feeling unwell and trapped. The work we do together will help you learn to trust your instincts to make helpful and adaptive choices, which also alleviates distressing symptoms, and restores an authentic sense of personal integrity and mental clarity.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My role as your therapist is to facilitate a fully collaborative process that helps you identify where you need to focus in order to get the results you are seeking. My work with you is to understand how you may be struggling with issues related either to a diagnosis; repeating dysfunctional patterns that keeps you stuck; emotional distress; or personal conflict that results in anxiety, depression or causes poor self-esteem, lack of self-worth, insecurity, or difficulty with self-direction. I share effective psychoeducational tools designed specifically to help you better understand the particulars of your challenges and work with you each step of the way to provide a clear path as you start to define personal strengths, explore your internal resources, and tap in to resiliency to discover yourself. I reach out to clients within 24 hours of booking an appointment. Once the client inputs their insurance information through headway we can start working together right away.
