Miles Matise, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Miles. As a spiritually-attuned counselor, I am open to exploring spiritual matters in our sessions. My approach is rooted in Existential therapy, where I am dedicated to educating, motivating, and communicating my belief that there is only one level of care—exceptional. I focus on prevention, accurate diagnosing when necessary, and proactive treatment planning. This ensures that the counseling process promotes self-reliance and independence while empowering you as the client. I hold a B.S. from The Citadel Military College, a Master of Divinity, and an M.S. in Community Counseling. My post-graduate work at The University of Northern Colorado earned me a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC); a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC); a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-FL) and LPC-TX; a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-FL and TX); a Certified Addiction Counselor (CACIII); an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). My primary research interests lie in spiritual development, contemporary issues facing families, and ecotherapy as a modality for mental health. I actively publish professional articles and books related to my research. In my practice, I specialize in addiction, family relationships, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, life transitions, spirituality, and trauma. I offer SonderMind Video Telehealth to provide flexible and accessible care. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the primary healing agent. Techniques are ancillary to this relationship—not a substitute for it—and are only used when needed. My vision is to help you along your healing journey by providing a compassionate presence. 'My role is not to lead or follow, but to walk alongside those who are committed to learning about who they are and why they are here.
