“Just had my first session with Mira and I adored it. Even longterm with my prior experience in therapy I didn’t feel as comfortable speaking as freely as I already have. I truly felt heard and seen. I look forward to my next appointment!”

Getting to know Mira Mabed

Therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest. I believe the relationship between us is the foundation for real change, and I work to build it from the very first session. Our work together is centered on you: your story, your challenges, and what you want your life to look like. I take the time to understand what you are carrying and how it affects your days, so we can create an approach that feels right for you. Many people come to therapy after holding things together for a long time. Stress, anxiety, low mood, or experiences that were never fully dealt with can build up quietly until it is hard to see a way through on your own. My goal is to help you make sense of what you are going through, develop practical ways to cope, and find your footing again. Through therapy, we work to ease what feels heavy while building your confidence in handling what comes next. My approach is person-centered and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, life transitions, and stress. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable opening up, building skills, and working toward lasting, meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

***DISCLAIMER*** We do not accept Medicaid Insurances. Clients are required to upload photos of their insurance card, front and back, when booking a session through Zocdoc. It is necessary to complete the full intake paperwork prior to their first scheduled session as well. *************************************************************

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy is a meaningful step toward feeling understood, supported, and more like yourself again. My approach is structured, collaborative, and focused on helping you make steady, lasting progress. We begin with an intake session, where we talk about what brought you to therapy, what you are dealing with now, and what you would like to be different. This is followed by an in-depth assessment, where we explore your background, experiences, and relationships to understand what is shaping how you feel today. From there, we create a personalized plan based on your goals. This may include easing anxiety or low mood, working through difficult experiences, building self-esteem, or finding healthier ways to handle stress. In ongoing sessions, we use evidence-based techniques such as CBT and ACT to help you understand your thoughts, work with difficult emotions, and build tools you can rely on in everyday life. We check progress along the way and adjust the plan if something is not working. My goal is to help you feel steadier, more confident, and better able to handle challenges with clarity and care.
