Getting to know Natalie Peterson

I've enjoyed years of counseling since my undergrad in psychology (2007), and more in-depth client and patient work since getting my masters in social work (2017) and clinical license. I've worked with adolescents in an alternative high school, in inpatient rehab for substance use, with adults in hospitals (trauma unit, women's unit, and abortion clinic), and with parents and children in the family court system. I love working with teens, parents, and young adults. Maternal mental health is a specialty I hold dearly--in my work as an abortion counselor and through serving as a social worker in the hospital's labor and delivery, postpartum, and antepartum units, I understand pregnancy as a very personal and powerful life event, with many special challenges throughout. My work with clients has been invaluable experience, and I bring that along with training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and a background of other strengths-based approaches, into practice.
