Getting to know Natalya Bowen

Are you appearing capable and accomplished on the outside but tense, overwhelmed, or disconnected on the inside? Do you struggle with self-doubt, navigating trauma, overthinking, shutting down, unhelpful relationship patterns, or life transitions, even though you “should” be doing fine? I work with thoughtful adults who want more than coping skills; we focus on embodied regulation, relational repair, deeper self-understanding, and lasting change. Licensed in NY, NJ, and CT, I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach combining EMDR, DBT, CBT, IFS-informed, somatic work, and more to support meaningful, sustainable healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I help clients slow down, listen inwardly, and make sense of long-standing patterns, life transitions, and internal conflicts. My work focuses on self-trust, emotional regulation, relational awareness, and meaning-making, supporting thoughtful change that feels grounded, embodied, and authentic. Therapy with me is thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply attuned. You can expect warmth, honesty, and a steady presence as we make sense of your experiences and create room for relief and growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual rather than “one size fits all.” In our first few sessions, I focus on getting to know you as a whole person, not just your symptoms, but your relationships, history, strengths, patterns, and what brings meaning to your life. Together, we explore what’s contributing to your current struggles and identify goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. Sessions are conversational, supportive, and active. Depending on your needs, we may work with thoughts and behavioral patterns, explore emotions and relationship dynamics, build coping and regulation skills, or process deeper experiences and trauma. I integrate evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, somatic techniques, and psychodynamic/relational therapy. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered, so I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where you can show up authentically. Some sessions may focus on practical tools and strategies, while others may involve deeper reflection and processing. We move at a pace that feels supportive for your system. My goal is not only symptom relief, but helping clients build greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and a stronger connection to themselves. If you’re ready for therapy that feels both grounded and transformative, I welcome you to reach out!
