Getting to know Nicole Gaither

I am a licensed social worker who provides remote therapy for children, teens, and adults. I truly believe that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. My passion is walking alongside people as they navigate stress, trauma, relationships, or big transitions. My goal in every session is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and genuinely cared for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer individual, couples, and family counseling, and I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and goals. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I am a Certified Mindfulness-Informed Professional (CMIP). These tools allow me to help clients process and heal from painful experiences, build healthier coping strategies, strengthen communication, and find more balance in their emotional lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes...it’s about meaningful growth. My clients often tell me that they feel seen, encouraged, and equipped with practical strategies they can use in daily life. I believe healing is a journey, and my role is to provide tools, perspective, and compassionate support along the way. If you’re ready to take that next step, whether for yourself, your child, your partner, or your family, I’d be honored to be part of your journey. Together, we can build resilience, deepen relationships, and help you move toward a life where you feel more grounded, hopeful, and whole.

Very good therapist for depression
I've been thinking of what to say of Nicole for sometime after wanting to post a review. She is without a doubt an exceptional therapist and person. I hadn't heard of EMDR for trauma work before Nicole. We have used this process successfully with each new session. If you're looking for a therapist in Chicago, look no further.
Nicole has been my therapist through my chronic illness diagnosis and depression. Her trauma work and EMDR have been a game changer. I had never heard of it but it works wonders and doesn't have the downsides of some medication. Highly recommend her and Mentella!
I usually don't leave reviews but I made a special exception for Nicole. She is an exceptionally kind, insightful, empathetic therapist for treatment with ADHD and the trauma/PTSD that so often accompanies it. A true blessing to me and my family.
THANK YOU Nicole! I never heard of EMDR for trauma therapy before working with Nicole even though I had seen other therapists in Chicago and throughout Illinois. I followe my curiosity and am glad I did, session after session I can feel the weight of my past relationship drama fading.
Nicole has been my therapist since I first moved to Chicago and then around Illinois. I've been very happy with her treatment and can say with confidence that you will be happy too. Trauma isn't just a run of the mill diagnosis for her; she looks beyond the symptoms to find core causes. I'm happy we met and plan on seeing her as long as I can!
Good therapist for couples
As a long time client, I have had the benefit of working one on one with Nicole for some time to help in my management of trauma using EMDR. I m happy to say that each session helps keep the scaries at bay. I was able to get back to work and be present with my family. One step at a time but I'm confident each one will be better than the last.
