“I recently had a session with Nik, and it was a very positive experience. He was highly communicative and made me feel comfortable right from the start. I usually prefer female therapists, but this was my first time working with a male therapist who truly made me feel at ease. He created a safe and supportive environment where I felt comfortable opening up at my own pace, without any pressure. I really appreciated his approach and professionalism, and I would definitely recommend him to others. ”

Getting to know Nikunjkumar (Nik) Ramani

I am a compassionate Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who is deeply committed to offering person-centered care tailored to each individual's unique needs. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where anyone, regardless of their background, feels understood and valued. Fueled by a heartfelt passion for exploring the intricacies of human experiences. My approach is anchored in empathy and cultural sensitivity. I genuinely listen and appreciate diverse perspectives, enabling me to guide clients through life’s challenges with kindness and understanding. My mission is to empower individuals on their journey toward resilience, fostering self-awareness and encouraging meaningful personal growth. I am dedicated to providing a safe and respectful space where individuals can explore their feelings and aspirations, nurturing a sense of hope and connection in their lives. The provider is a "Associate Counselor" with license number 37AC00885900, practicing under the supervision of Gloria Matskin. Gujarati and Hindi are my first languages, and I am also advanced in English. I offer therapy in all three, so you can choose the language you feel most comfortable with.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer a space that’s warm, supportive, and judgment-free—where you can show up just as you are. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll work together to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and move toward the changes you want to see in your life. I’m not tied to one specific theory or method. Instead, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches—pulling in elements from person-centered therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and others—depending on what fits best for you. My focus is always on building a strong therapeutic relationship, because I believe healing happens when you feel genuinely heard and respected. I speak Gujarati, Hindi, and English, and I grew up in a culturally diverse environment. This helps me stay mindful of how family values, identity, traditions, and cultural pressures can play a big role in how we experience life and mental health. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’ll move at your pace and explore things in a way that feels safe, empowering, and personalized. Gujarati and Hindi are my first languages, and I am also advanced in English. I offer therapy in all three, so you can choose the language you feel most comfortable with.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is person-centered and flexible—I don’t follow a strict formula because each person’s story, pace, and needs are different. In our early sessions, I focus on building a strong, trusting relationship. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, what matters most to you, and what you’d like to work toward. This helps lay the foundation for deeper work ahead. I use an eclectic and integrative approach, which means I draw from different therapeutic models based on what fits you best. This could include elements of CBT, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, or insight-oriented work—depending on what feels most helpful for your goals. I also pay attention to how culture, identity, and past experiences shape the present. Therapy isn’t always about quick fixes. Sometimes it can feel like “nothing is happening,” but in reality, trust is being built, awareness is forming, and internal shifts are beginning. I’ll always invite open communication so we can check in about how things are going, while also helping you reflect on the progress that may not feel obvious right away. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you are emotionally, while staying grounded in your growth.

Had and amazing experience all together. Felt like I was in safe hands. Nik is an amazing person and a very professional counselor ??
I wasn’t completely convinced that therapy would make a difference for me, but working with Nikunjkumar helped shift that mindset. He has a calm, grounded way of being that made it easier to open up, even when I wasn’t sure what I was feeling. Honestly, a few sessions felt like they weren’t necessary at the time—like we were circling around things—but in hindsight, I realize those moments were helping build the foundation for real change. It was like strengthening the roots before anything could grow. Eventually, things started to click. I became more resilient, more self-aware, and better equipped to handle anxiety and stress. Looking back, I’m really glad I stayed with the process. If you're looking for someone patient, perceptive, and steady, I’d definitely recommend Nikunjkumar.
I worked with Nikunjkumar Ramani for a period of time and had a genuinely positive experience. He offered a calm and non-judgmental space where I felt safe to open up gradually. The progress wasn’t instant, and not every session felt uplifting in the moment, but over time, I started to notice meaningful changes. There were ups and downs, but overall, the process led to a real sense of relief. I feel more capable of handling anxiety and stress, and even those around me have noticed the difference. I’d confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a supportive and grounded therapist.
