Getting to know Noah Liker

I primarily work with adult men (ages 18-40) who want to feel more confident in who they are and improve their relationships; those that feel stuck and disconnected and are looking for more out of their lives. It's possible that some of the challenges you’re facing may be tied to deeper issues that aren’t always easy to talk about. This is why you've "tried everything and still can't figure it out." Therapy gives you a space to be real, move beyond the “push through it” or "tough it out" mindset, and grow in ways that feel meaningful and lasting. It is a privilege to help others in their healing and growth. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that is both genuine and transparent. Because no two people are the same, I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs and goals. I will work collaboratively with you to build a stronger sense of agency, helping you gain clarity, confidence, and the ability to make decisions that align with your values. I earned a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support diverse client needs. I am committed to bringing a sense of curiosity with the intention of helping you change. I believe that showing up for others starts with taking care of yourself, so I make balance a priority in my own life. I enjoy spending time at the dog park with my four-legged companion who constantly reminds me to slow down and appreciate the moment. As a San Diego native, I value time where I can be active and outdoors—whether at the beach, practicing yoga, or simply enjoying the sunshine. I also enjoy camping, podcasts, baseball and traveling (where I’ve picked up a habit of collecting refrigerator magnets from each place I visit). If you think we'd be a good fit together, I'm ready and excited to begin the journey with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you create meaningful change. I’ll meet you where you are, while also challenging you to grow. After all, you're here for real change, not just to have someone listen to you! I use a mix of approaches—including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral strategies, and skills for managing strong emotions—to help you better understand yourself, build healthier patterns, and follow through on the changes you want to make. Sessions are a space where you can be honest, explore what’s holding you back, and leave with tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life. If you're ready to do the work, I'm ready to make the journey with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After spending time learning about you, I gravitate towards addressing and unlocking the underlying issues that seem to be holding you back. I also give real-time skills and feedback so you feel supported, understood and like you have a direction in therapy. I excel at using a natural sense of curiosity to navigate the intricacies of your life story.
