Getting to know Nupur Vaghasia

If you’ve been moving through life feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to balance your emotional needs with cultural or family expectations, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve been holding in more than you can name, doing your best to keep it together, even when you’re worn out. Therapy can be a space to pause, breathe, and begin reconnecting with the parts of you that have gone quiet. You don’t have to carry it all by yourself. What guides my work is deep care, curiosity, and respect for your unique story, letting your lived experience guide our work together. You deserve to be deeply listened to and to have your full self held with respect and care. I believe therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about helping you reconnect with yourself in ways that feel authentic, healing, and more aligned with the life you want to live.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a trauma-informed South Asian therapist, I’m familiar with the emotional push-pull of trying to meet cultural and family expectations while also wanting space for your own voice, needs, and healing. I’m especially attuned to feelings like guilt for setting boundaries, or the experience of quietly carrying pain that doesn’t always have a name. Many of the people I work with are navigating depression, anxiety, relationship and family stress, identity questions, or the impact of cultural and intergenerational pressures. They’ve been told to be strong, to keep going, and to not take up too much space, but they’re exhausted from carrying that alone. Clients also often come to me to explore their inner world, deepen their self-understanding, or move toward meaningful change, whatever that might look like for them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In therapy, I offer a warm, grounding space where you can slow down and listen to yourself without judgment, where you don’t have to perform, explain, or be “put together.” In sessions, I bring gentle structure, but I follow your pace and what feels meaningful to you. Together, we will notice emotional patterns, unpack protective strategies that may no longer serve you, and create room for the parts of you that have long gone unheard.
