“Dr. Waldman is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in her field. I appreciate her commitment to her patients, myself included, and the different approaches she takes in our sessions. I’ve only been seeing her for a short time but I can already see improvements in my every day life and I would highly recommend booking an appointment with her. Her insights have been invaluable and my only regret is not booking my first appointment sooner!”

Getting to know Dr. Penni Waldman

Dr. Penni Waldman is a clinical/health psychologist, interfaith minister, and holistic nutritional consultant with over 25 years of experience. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. Dr. Waldman works with children, teenagers, couples, geriatrics, and families. Some of her specialties include anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, substance abuse, eating disorders, grief, chronic illness, school counseling, parenting, autoimmune diseases, viruses, and men’s issues. Utilizing evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and ACT are important interventions she integrates with the needs of each patient. It is not “one size fits all.” She uses what each individual needs. Dr. Waldman works with patients from different cultures, religions, and ethnicities to bridge gaps in understanding one another. Most of us go through life with uncontrolled thoughts, allowing our minds to dictate perceptions and meaning to situations we encounter, often in unproductive and distressful ways. Beliefs drive behaviors, and as a result, people often complain that they repeat unproductive behaviors that do not lead to healing. Breaking this cycle is possible by altering our perceptions, which breaks the cycle of repeating behaviors and can positively influence others in our lives. According to psychiatrist William Glasser, there are four levels to responding to situations: (a) what we think, (b) emotions, (c) behaviors, and (d) our body’s response. These responses influence our interactions with ourselves and others. While we do not have direct control over our emotions or our body’s responses (such as increased heart rate or blood pressure), by manipulating our thoughts and behaviors, we can influence change in how we feel emotionally and physically, as well as indirectly make these changes.

She is super sweet, understanding, fun, not judgmental at all. This is the longest I’ve been with a therapist.
Looking forward to my next appointment! Really felt comfortable!

A savvy, smart, kind and helpful session. I am impressed

The doctor was very aggressive and intimidating in our first session, and I was triggered by her aggression. She also seemed to have a big ego and mentioned multiple times that her PhD is a 13 year degree while other social workers only has 6 year degree. She constantly implied the symptoms I’m describing are not serious enough, until she made me cry then she seemed satisfied and became less aggressive.

Penni is great! One thing that I felt from the start is when you are speaking with her, she is not judging you. She listens and provides insight, and is super friendly. I can appreciate what she does to help others. I have to say that this is the longest I have stayed with a therapist, because of how Penni is. She is accommodating to time, and is always available. I’m really glad I found her as my therapist and see great changes coming with her help.

I truly appreciate my sessions with Dr. Waldman. From my first session, she created a truly safe space to talk and she possesses a tremendous amount of empathy. She quickly became a trusted guide on my path to self discovery.

She is one of the most amazing people I’ve spoken to, very understanding amazing listener always willing to help at any given point
I have been seeing Dr. Waldman for over a year. She has helped so much during this time. She is a straight shooter with keen insight (even when I don’t want to hear it), but her manner is very friendly and disarming, which makes the hard work much less daunting. Very happy I met her; I highly recommend her.

I would not recommend this provider to anyone; very unprofessional and dismissive tone and took little to no time to understand why I was seeking therapy during the intake call, was just preoccupied with filling out paperwork.
