Rachel Collins, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Hi, I am Rachel Collins. I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and the founder of Stride Forward Counseling. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. I use an eclectic approach in counseling, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Strength-Based therapy. Doing this work feels like a gift, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love. Taking the steps to start therapy can be both scary and exciting. As your personal guide, I want to help you find the place where you are feeling joy in your life. This place is different for everyone, and I want to understand what outcomes you desire. My goal is to help you live a more meaningful, satisfactory, and values-consistent life. It is my commitment to provide a genuine, empathetic, and collaborative environment that fosters meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that the key to success in therapy revolves around the client’s willingness to work towards a value consistent life that is personal to each individual. One must come into sessions with an open mind and engage in transparent communication with their therapist. As the therapist, I hope to make this process as comfortable as I can for my clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My client population is ages 18+ individuals and couples, where I primarily focus on patient empowerment. Although I have a great background in CBT, I also use techniques which include: mindfulness, meditation, and motivational interviewing.
