What should a new client know about working with you?

My work is focused exclusively on couples and relationship issues. This isn't a general therapy practice that occasionally sees couples. Every session is grounded in rebuilding emotional safety, which is the foundation that makes real communication, connection, and closeness possible. Sessions are structured and direct without feeling rigid. I help couples slow conflict in real time, identify the patterns driving recurring issues, and understand what's happening beneath the surface of their arguments. The relationship itself is always my primary client. This work requires genuine engagement. For couples who commit to the process, meaningful movement typically happens within the first several sessions. For those whose partner isn't ready to participate, individual relationship work is also available and can create real change on its own.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session focuses on understanding where the relationship is right now. What patterns keep repeating, what each partner is experiencing, and what both people want from the work. From there I develop a clear picture of what's driving the dynamic and where the work needs to focus. Sessions are conversational but purposeful. I don't let couples simply vent or talk past each other. I actively intervene to slow things down, clarify what's actually being communicated, and help both partners hear each other more accurately. Most couples begin with weekly sessions and adjust frequency as connection returns and the relationship stabilizes.
