Psychotherapist
VA
Hello, I'm Robin, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Specialist with 20 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse. I earned my Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2002, and since then, I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, families, and adults in various settings. My journey has taken me from providing intensive in-home counseling to children and families, to offering clinical case management and counseling to adults grappling with addiction, and even to outpatient therapy for homeless veterans with a local non-profit. Additionally, I have completed three levels of the Gottman Method Training, making me a skilled couples therapist. In my practice, I enjoy working with a wide range of mental health challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD. My true passion lies in helping those struggling with substance use disorders and addiction. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, where we work together to understand and address the root causes of your challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and understood. When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate and collaborative experience. I see therapy as a partnership, where we explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to foster growth and healing. Whether you're dealing with stress, trauma, or relationship issues, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Outside of my professional life, I value the importance of spirituality and its role in mental health. I also enjoy engaging in activities that promote well-being and balance in my own life, which helps me stay grounded and present for my clients. If you're ready to take the first step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to navigate your journey to wellness.
