“It has been a pleasure working with Ryan. He truly takes the time to listen to your needs and explain why you are starting therapy in your initial sessions. He adapts quickly to changes in those needs and allows you to reflect in a safe space. I have never met a therapist like Ryan who takes such an organic approach to listening and providing feedback. I can see how much time he dedicates to getting to know his clients and ensuring advice comes from the right place. I look forward to continuing our therapy and always get excited to tackle the next topic of our therapy. I have no doubt that Ryan's help will help others learn valuable ways to improve their lives. ”

“Ryan has helped me more than I can express in a 1000-character review. About a year ago I was in a really tough place mentally, and I am doing so much better now thanks to his guidance and techniques. Therapy works if you put in the work, but Ryan gives you all the tools, plus a safe space to offload everything that's weighing you down. I can't recommend him strongly enough”

Getting to know Ryan Lowell

Finding the right therapist is a process! I encourage anyone considering therapy to carefully reflect on what a good therapist match means for them. This could include factors such as age, nationality, race, religion, gender, sexual identity, therapeutic approach, experience with mental health issues, and more. I encourage my clients to be open and honest with me about their feelings in therapy and whether their needs are being met. I strive to maintain high levels of open communication and comfort within sessions, fostering a collaborative environment between client and counselor. Finding the right therapist for YOU is important-it might not be me! I understand that choosing a therapist can feel confusing, overwhelming, and like shooting an arrow into the dark. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss my approaches and answer any questions or concerns you may have. I hold a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University, which informs my commitment to providing thoughtful and personalized care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I enjoy building connections and working on a case-by-case basis in order to tailor a therapeutic approach in order to best suit the needs of my clients. Together, we identify problems, collaboratively come up with an approach for solutions, and eventually find ways to maintain progress that has been built. I generally use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Approaches (exploring past and how they shape who we are now), while incorporating Mindfulness exercises and approaches to alleviate unnecessary anxiety in a healthy way. I also, when applicable, often provide guided imagery and meditation exercises, which commonly relieve high levels of stress and anxiety, as well as provide the tools and education for my clients to be able to practice these techniques on their own.

Ryan is a very good listener and directs the conversation well. He offers a sound objective perspective and was, carefully and deftly, willing to be a bit more direct with me than other Therapists I have seen, which I really appreciated.

It was my first time seeing a therapist and it was a lot better than I expected. Ryan was very helpful and I’m looking forward to seeing him again.
He’s great! My old psychologist moved out of town, so I had to go through 5-6 months of uncomfortable attempts to find a good match… and Ryan was it. During the first appointment, we discussed what I was looking for from a therapist, and he listened. I’ve been getting what I was looking for. He’s a great listener who helps me determine the roots/reasons for my sometimes overwhelming emotions. Once we identify them, he helps me figure out how to tackle or process them. The use of mindfulness techniques is a plus for me!
