“It's been great working with Saira for the last year or so. I never feel judged, or like I have to say things perfectly for her to get it. She's helped me a lot with issues I navigate in dating, friendships, and work. Getting to know Saira Malhotra

Our daily lives are moving at unprecedented speeds. Responsibilities, expectations, and endless streams of information pile up until our nervous systems short-circuit; anxiety surges, panic ensues, intrusive thoughts break through, or exhaustion makes even small tasks feel impossible. These symptoms are not a reflection of lacking willpower or personal failure. They are instead signals of our very human need for a slower emotional process. In our rush to eliminate discomfort, we lose sight of the infinite choices available to us. Therapy offers us space to listen closely to our inner world and time to unravel cycles which keep us stuck. We start by developing an honest, nonjudgmental understanding of your psychological needs and patterns. We then use this awareness to disrupt what no longer serves you and build more sustainable emotional processes. The connection between client and therapist forms the foundation for meaningful change. Most treatment outcomes stem from connection and trust, while evidence-based strategies provide tools for change. My approach balances intentional guidance with genuine, organic dialogue. Our work will follow a pace which feels best to you. Together, we can clarify your needs, release what confines you, and discover new ways to relate to yourself and the world. You are welcome to reach out with questions, or when the time is right.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a flexible, collaborative process tailored to your individual needs and pace. Whether you are seeking support for a specific challenge or interested in deeper, ongoing growth, the work adapts to what feels right for you. My approach combines evidence-based techniques like Internal Family Systems (IFS), cyclical psychodynamics, and behavioral therapy. Sessions are always conversational rather than rigid or scripted. IFS [used to create the film Inside Out] helps us understand different parts within ourselves, each carrying unique emotions and roles. By learning to listen and relate to these parts with kindness, it becomes possible to resolve internal conflicts, foster self-compassion, and improve our processes with emotional pain. Our goal is to help you better recognize recurring patterns, listen to your inner world, and create a sustainable emotional process. Therapy offers a space to fully experience feelings so they no longer hold you back. Healing happens at a human pace, with steady progress and moments of pause both playing important roles. The support I offer is grounded in curiosity, empathy, and honesty. I hope to help you live more authentically and in harmony with your values.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

New clients may schedule directly or begin with a free 15-minute phone consultation to ask questions and explore how therapy might support them. Early sessions focus on understanding mental health over the past 6 to 12 months and collaborating to set treatment goals. Regular check-ins ensure therapy remains helpful and aligned with individual needs. Many clients notice progress within 12 to 16 sessions, though most prefer flexible, ongoing work which adapts as life changes. In practice, therapy is less like following a fixed blueprint and more like tending to a garden - each person grows in their own season and requires different care along the way. With permission and privacy as a priority, coordination with other providers is available to support seamless care. Medication can be a helpful supplement - not a replacement - for therapy. Choosing to use medication is a personal decision. When it seems truly necessary, I will work alongside you to connect with a prescriber who feels like the right fit. Medication can ease symptoms and bring more steadiness to daily life. You do not have to be in crisis to consider it - sometimes it is simply the next supportive step.

Saira's practice offered me a place with abundant support and patience in ways I didn't know I needed. The way I feel seen, heard, and prompted to grow is really inspiring and makes my healing journey feel safe. I am grateful for the work Saira and I do together.
It's been great working with Saira for the last year or so. I never feel judged, or like I have to say things perfectly for her to get it. She's helped me a lot with issues I navigate in dating, friendships, and work. I originally thought I would need to see a male therapist as a guy myself, but this has been the best option for me by far.
Great therapist, can't recommend her enough
Love that you can do either in office or virtual. The flexibility is great. Saira has been especially helpful for my managing my ADHD and depression. She is very knowledgeable and helps a lot with referrals too. She's also just genuinely a cool person.
Saira is a thoughtful and compassionate therapist. She strives to provide the best care to her patients and truly cares about their progress. She is very patient and honest. She has helped me target the sources of my life and mental health that need improvement and has given me a path forward. I highly recommend her.
I made a request for therapy in a panic late one night, and she got back to me first thing in the morning. I appreciate how she always listens and is willing to correct herself if she gets it wrong. Would especially recommend her if it is your first time in therapy, or if you are feeling anxious about the state of the world.
Generally I don't like therapy and find it boring, but Saira makes it feel like a conversation. The hour goes by faster than I want it to and I always leave feeling lighter and more ready to tackle my depression. I especially recommend Saira for people who are coming to therapy after previous bad experiences or for the very first time. She will make you feel comfortable and is always honest
Would refer any of my friends and family to Saira she is such a great therapist. Really helped me with my depression and severe lifelong trauma. Also helped a lot when someone close to me passed away. It feels like she knows everything honestly. Super smart and also always willing to admit or look up what she does not know.
I have been in treatment since I was a child, and have seen many therapists. Saira was the first and only one who saw my ADHD symptoms and immediately referred me for further assessment. I learned I had really severe ADHD for many years through this assessment, and it completely changed my understanding of my life experiences and myself. My self esteem is in such a better place, I feel far less anxious, and I now know what my needs are and how to meet them. Saira changed my life and I am so grateful.
Saira has been really helpful for me during the ups and downs of the last few years. She goes the extra mile to be an advocate for me as my therapist, and this is really helpful when I run into issues with other areas of my healthcare. I like staying with one therapist for a while, and I appreciate how Saira is always evolving her approach through continuing education. She is very transparent with me about what she learns and how her practice is evolving, which I find really helpful.
Saira is a fantastic provider. She works hard to ensure you get your money's worth, and I truly feel that way at the end of every session. She is collaborative in her approach and always open to feedback if she is incorrect or does not get things quite right. I highly recommend her to any and all looking for treatment -- one way or another she will get back to you ASAP
I've been to therapy before and feel comfortable with it, but this office was next level. The aesthetic of the office is so cool and welcoming, not clinical at all. Her office itself is cozy and vibe-y and feels really intimate and human, which I really appreciate. I feel safe with Saira, like I am talking to a friend who is totally neutral, empathetic, and understanding. She doesn't ever make me feel like I've done the wrong thing or like I'm being judged, even when I am judging myself. As a 20-something trying to navigate some big life shifts, I am so, so grateful for Saira's perspective.
I have been working with Saira for many years and she is an incredible provider! We use multiple therapeutic approaches to address my trauma informed past. Her ability to meet me where I am and challenge systems of internalized oppression are life changing. I highly recommend Saira to folx of color, trans and non-binary folx, and anyone who has experienced trauma.
I spent a lot of time trying to find a good fit for therapy. I'm SO glad that I was able to connect with Saira. She has been such a safe and supportive person and exactly what I needed for processing what I've been through. I highly recommend booking with her!
My sessions with Saira have been extremely successful. She has a warm and kind personality which makes it easier to work through tough subjects. She is also very patient and resourceful, which was good when I was having some setbacks. I would definitely recommend to others who are looking for a good practitioner. She goes above and beyond for her clients and it is a real asset in the long run.
As a woman of color, having Saira as my therapist has been a godsend. It's been amazing to have conversations regarding being a minority and being able to discuss those struggles. It really means a lot to know that she actually understands how a lot of "solutions" others are given relating to familial relationships don't work for our experiences. She is such a genuine person and you can tell she really cares about the people she works with. I also love that she knows how to keep a conversation upbeat and light-hearted but can also dive into good and more serious questions. Saira even went above and beyond to advocate for my health when some of my providers were hesitant and it made a world of difference. 15/10.
Saira made me feel seen in a way no other healthcare provider has. She’s an amazingly empathetic listener, and her systems-based approach helped me understand my emotions in a new way. If thriving in this world feels impossible, Saira can help you survive—and then they’ll help you discover what else is possible.
Saira is the best mental health professional I have ever gotten the privilege of working with. She is compassionate and helpful towards any issues I bring to therapy that week, no matter how small or big I find the problem to be. Her demeanor radiates a safe space for anyone to come to her. I have never felt rejected or judged in any way by her, and I can confirm that her space is LGBT+ friendly for any possible future patients needing to consider this. She is also fairly accessible and helpful outside of sessions over email. We have talked over email for accommodation letters, setting up appointments with other therapists, helping to sync information with my psychiatrist who is outside of her office, etc., and she has always responded quickly with the information I needed. She genuinely cares so much about her patients. I have been going to her for several years now, and I highly recommend working with her.
