Hi there! I'm Samantha and I specialize in working with clients navigating complex trauma and PTSD recovery, anxiety and panic, family systems work (including scapegoating, enmeshment, and narcissistic abuse dynamics), and attachment.
I received my Bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University, and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of West Alabama.
During my practicum I worked for a clinic in Huntsville, AL, and for my internship I worked with client from NY and WI through Sol Health. I’ve lived all over the United States, I love to travel, and I currently reside in Mississippi.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My counseling style is direct, collaborative, and grounded. I use polyvagal-informed tools and practical regulation strategies alongside honest exploration. Sessions focus on helping clients reclaim agency after experiences of silence, invalidation, or disrupted attachment, with an emphasis on authenticity and real-world application over theory alone.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
A typical session with me depends on the client and what’s actually happening that day. Sessions can be more structured and formal or completely informal—there’s no set script.
I don’t push people to talk about anything, especially if they’re new to therapy or feeling anxious about it. I’m fine just talking about whatever comes up and getting to know you. I’ve colored with clients, played cards online, and done all sorts of low-pressure things when that fits better than diving straight in. The pace and focus follow what you need in the moment. I believe that my client’s are in the driver seat, and my purpose is to join you on your journey and meet you where you are.
