I am a Spanish-English psychotherapist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. I hold a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Universidad Central de Venezuela. I welcome patients of all backgrounds with a wide range of psychological struggles. I'm interested in getting to know you and hope our work together will result in creative, realistic, and meaningful solutions to the challenges you are facing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

****Thank you for scheduling an appointment with me. **** You may expect a call or email from me in the next 48 hours. I ask that you respond to my communication promptly so we can discuss your interest. PLEASE NOTE: If we are unable to connect, I may be unable to confirm your appointment. I think of therapy as a collaborative process. My orientation is psychodynamic and relational. However, I may engage in more practical, symptom reduction approaches when needed. I favor in-person treatment whenever possible. I invite you to come and talk. I hope to offer a supportive environment where you can discover more about yourself. A place where you might recognize the ways you get stuck and can take inventory of your strengths and resources to thrive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically you will lead the way of the session by sharing what is on your mind... I listen carefully and work with you to further our understanding of the situation. The more we understand, the more options will become available to you about how to think, feel and behave. Having options makes you more resilient.
