I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric community in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. My approach is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based treatments, with a focus on helping clients build practical coping skills, improve emotional stability, and navigate challenging life transitions. I strive to create a supportive, structured, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood while also being empowered to make meaningful change. I have experience working with clients who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, or persistent worry. When appropriate, I also collaborate with parents to support adolescents in a way that promotes both connection and effective boundaries.

Getting to know Sari Harris

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric community in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I strive to create a supportive, structured, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood while also being empowered to make meaningful change. What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they feel heard and understood, while also being gently challenged to grow. My style is warm, collaborative, and structured, with a strong focus on building practical skills that can be used in everyday life. I specialize in working with children-adults who may be struggling with anxiety, self-harm, or difficulty managing intense emotions. Using DBT and other evidence-based approaches, I help clients develop healthier ways to cope, improve relationships, and feel more in control of their thoughts and behaviors. I believe therapy should be both validating and goal-oriented. While I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable environment, I also work actively with clients to identify patterns, build insight, and make meaningful, lasting changes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is focused on getting to know you—understanding your current challenges, history, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy. We will talk through symptoms, patterns, and any immediate concerns, and begin identifying goals for treatment. From there, sessions are typically structured and skill-based, especially when using DBT. We focus on learning and practicing tools to manage emotions, tolerate distress, and improve relationships. I often incorporate phone coaching, skill-building, and discussion of real-life situations to help clients apply what they’re learning outside of sessions. For adolescents, I may involve parents or caregivers when appropriate to support progress and ensure consistency outside of therapy. Throughout the process, treatment is collaborative and tailored to each client’s needs, with ongoing adjustments based on progress and goals.
