Getting to know Scotty French

I strive to create a supportive and comfortable space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. As a recent graduate with a Master's in Counseling from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, I bring a fresh perspective and dynamic energy to our sessions, guided by the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to collaborate with you, helping you uncover insights and develop tools for meaningful and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. I use a client-centered approach and draw on frameworks like Choice Theory and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help navigate challenges such as anxiety, intense emotions, trauma, and relationship dynamics. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, as well as those with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). My practice is trauma-informed, focusing on fostering your autonomy, empowerment, and personal growth. Whether you're looking to manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, or build a deeper understanding of yourself, I am here to walk with you on your journey.

Scotty was such an amazing and attentive therapist. He really listened to what I had to say and I felt like he connected with from the first session. I've tried a couple of other therapists but I didn't really feel like they were helpful or cared about me, but Scotty immediately made me feel cared for from the beginning. Thanks so much, Scotty!
