*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* Suffering through an intense loss, I know tremendous pain, grief, and trauma. I was able to find a way forward with the help of a supportive clinician who taught me resilience. Now, I want to share that resiliency with others. Making connections with strong and diverse individuals has been the most rewarding path I could have chosen. By providing the same safe, welcoming, and healing space that I was given, I empower my clients throughout their journey. If you are healing from complex and chronic trauma, I offer support and will teach you new ways to cope and recover by providing a space to vent your frustrations, dig deep to find the root cause of an issue, or simply give you a supportive ear to cry through your pain. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from New York University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to guide clients effectively through their healing process. Everyone deserves a person to meet them where they are and to have their back through any and all challenges. I hope to make my mark on the world by being that person for you. Said one of Shelly’s patients: “Shelly is great. I really like that she is close to my age so she can understand some age-related experiences and I think that she is a wonderful neutral party to share my feelings and thoughts with!”

What should a new client know about working with you?

Much of my experience is with clients healing from complex, chronic trauma. I also specialize in assisting those living with symptoms of depression, anxiety, OCD, mood disorders, and ADHD. I have extensive experience working with children, teens, and young adults. However, I am more than happy to work with anyone with any background, symptomatology, or diagnosis. With the goal of meeting people where they are, I will gladly work with clients at any point in their healing journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I create space to meet your individualized needs on a session-by-session basis. I strive to create a safe, warm, and collaborative environment to prioritize your healing goals in a supportive and empowering way. Our personal working connection is the foundation of meaningful work together. Upholding this therapeutic relationship is of the utmost priority. I get to know each and every one of my clients as a whole person, including who they are beyond their presenting issues or symptoms. I was lucky enough to know what I wanted to do with my life from an extremely young age, thanks to the life-changing experiences I had with my childhood clinician. From then on, I knew I wanted to help people the way she helped me. Making connections with strong, resilient, and diverse individuals is the most rewarding path I could have ever chosen. I provide the same safe, welcoming, healing space I was given for all of my clients and empower them through their journey.
