Shiran Glass, LCSW

Shiran Glass, LCSW

Psychotherapist
20 Park Ave, Long Beach, NY
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, and patterns that feel difficult to change. Many of the individuals I support are thoughtful, high-functioning, and may have tried therapy before, yet continue to feel stuck, reactive, or disconnected. I also work with clients navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and the ongoing impact of past experiences. My approach to care is trauma-informed, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I integrate experiential and evidence-based methods, including Coherence Therapy, memory reconsolidation, DBT-informed skills, and Havening Techniques®, to help clients better understand their emotional responses, regulate their nervous systems, and create lasting change. Sessions are paced thoughtfully and focused on both emotional insight and practical support.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aim to create a therapy experience that feels safe, respectful, and grounded in compassion. My goal is to help patients feel understood and supported while working toward greater emotional balance, clarity, and connection in their lives. You don’t need to arrive with a clear plan —our work unfolds collaboratively, at a pace that honors your readiness and nervous system.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My work is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each individual. In our initial sessions, I focus on creating a sense of safety and trust while getting to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in now, your history, and patterns you may notice in your relationships, emotions, or responses to stress. I also pay close attention to how experiences are held in the body and nervous system, not only in thoughts. Sessions often include a blend of reflective conversation and gentle, evidence-based approaches that help address the root of emotional distress. Depending on your needs, we may work with emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and present-moment awareness to support healing from past experiences, including trauma. The work is paced carefully and collaboratively, with an emphasis on choice, consent, and emotional safety. Some sessions are more exploratory, while others focus on practical tools you can use between sessions to feel more grounded and regulated. Throughout our work together, I regularly check in to ensure the process feels supportive and aligned with your goals. My aim is to help you build greater self-understanding, resilience, and a sense of stability—both in therapy and in daily life.
