Getting to know Shruthi Nair
I believe therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space where thoughts and emotions are further explored to develop insight and achieve self-compassion. Through this process, I emphasize a collaborative relationship where your values as a person are prioritized in the therapeutic space. I work through a cultural lens to understand the barriers that minorities may face, recognizing that discussing mental health within a family system can be difficult and sometimes cause your authentic self to feel broken. I am passionate about working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, and breaking cultural barriers. I am trained in CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapies. Together, we will create a plan tailored to your goals, incorporating evidence-based practices and unraveling your past. I hold a Master's in Applied Pediatric Neuropsychology from University College London and an MEd in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania.
