Perhaps you are experiencing life transitions and not sure how to navigate the unknown; maybe you have been hit hard by trauma or grief, finding it difficult to stand up again; you and your partner may be dancing delicately around one another but still end up stepping on each other’s toes; perhaps you are so consumed by dark thoughts that depression and anxiety are biting every inch of your mind. I’m here for you. We will work together toward a better version of you; we will discover and strengthen the power inside of you and create changes that may be too hard to make on your own. Therapists are not magicians, but together, you and I can do some magic work! That has been proved repeatedly through my work with clients. Thanks to neuroscience, now we have a roadmap to help folks improve mental wellness. My practice integrates approaches informed by neuroscience, trauma work, and attachment theories to create substantial changes and healing. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. Therapy is not easy, and change is not linear. In a society that says no to vulnerability, therapy is one of the most courageous yet rewarding journeys that one can take. That said, changes are not always the focus of therapy. Sometimes, we need therapy simply because life’s adversities are not supposed to be dealt with alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Informed by neuroscience and trauma-focused training, I find experiential and resource-focused therapy extremely effective in treating intra- and interpersonal struggles. Therefore, I use a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My work focuses on coping strategies and the healing process. My style is collaborative, empathetic, humanistic, and empowering. I seek feedback from clients to continuously improve therapist effect. I value flexibility and creativity in my work.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You can book a 15-min free initial consultation with me to see if we are a good fit or directly schedule an intake with me. In the intake session, I will learn about your life and things you would like to change in your life (your treatment goal) as well as addressing any concerns you have for working with me. We will discuss the frequency of our future meetings. In the following sessions, we will work together around your treatment goal but also allow flexibility in terms of updating the goal and addressing concerns outside the goal. We will update the goal every three months. I seek feedback from you at the end of every session to understand your experience with me and what you think was helpful or unhelpful in the session so that we can continue to improve our collaborative work.
