Ms. Silvia A. Torres is the founding clinician of Torres Mental Health Counseling Services, PLLC. She earned her MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, City University of New York, and holds a bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University. Ms. Torres works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related impacts, and those navigating life transitions.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I consider myself an integrative, relational, client-centered therapist. I have training in various modalities, including EMDR. I strive to develop a strong therapeutic relationship in order to understand the many facets of your self and your life, so I can best support you.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
You will receive a confirmation email from our office once your booking is confirmed. We have some preliminary documentation for you to complete within the ZocDoc system. However, due to varying needs, you will receive a link from our office to complete any additional forms. We ask that you complete all forms prior to your appointment so that we can be best prepared to assist you.
An intake appointment is an information-gathering session designed to assess whether our practice is an appropriate level of care and to evaluate for any risk factors.
Following the intake, you will be scheduled for a recurring appointment on specific days and times that work for you.
