Hi, I’m Socorro, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with adults, couples, and college-aged students who are ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. Many of the people who come to therapy with me appear thoughtful and capable on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck beneath the surface. Some are navigating relationship difficulties, others are facing life transitions or identity questions, and many are simply tired of carrying everything on their own. I especially enjoy working with couples who want to strengthen communication, rebuild emotional closeness, and move through conflict in healthier ways. I also work closely with college students and young adults who are navigating the pressures of independence, relationships, and figuring out who they are during an important stage of life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe enough to slow down, explore your experiences honestly, and begin responding to life in new ways. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, interpersonal therapy, and mindfulness while always tailoring the work to what feels most helpful for you. What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they can speak openly without feeling judged or rushed. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable slowing down, understanding what you’re experiencing, and exploring what might need to change. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable individuals who feel stuck in patterns they can’t quite shift on their own. Together, we look at the emotional, relational, and practical factors shaping your experience so that you can begin responding to life with greater clarity and confidence. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, academic pressure, life transitions, or a deeper sense of uncertainty, my goal is to support meaningful change that feels both realistic and lasting.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What I value most about this work is seeing people realize they are capable of more change than they initially believed. Many clients begin therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. Being able to witness someone develop greater self-understanding, confidence, and emotional steadiness over time is incredibly meaningful to me. I especially enjoy working with couples and young adults because these stages of life often involve important decisions about identity, relationships, and the future. Supporting people as they gain clarity and begin making choices that align more closely with who they truly are is the most rewarding part of my work.
