Getting to know Sohaib Javed

As a South Asian, Ace-Aro, and Muslim Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege, I bring warmth, cultural humility, and a deeply human approach to therapy. My style is often described as a “warm campfire” — inviting, grounding, and a space where you can finally exhale. I help clients process the past, navigate identity and stigma, and build the resilience they need to show up more fully in the present. I have clinical experience in navigating of complex grief, depression, anxiety, anger-management, substance usage, porn-addiction, trauma processing, medical adjustments, men's mental health issues and affirmative therapy of gender and sexual identify exploration.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is being integrated and holistic. I will work with you to create a map of your lived experiences and challenges while supplementing your goals with clinically evidenced interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic interventions, narrative storytelling, and utilization of creativity such as art, music and dance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session will be an intake in which we will holistically explore your lived experiences, strengths, goals, and areas of self that you wish to build upon. My goal is to help empower you and work to provide strategies that ensure growth and healthy well-being.
