Sophia Franklin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, began her career in social work in 2003 in Mississippi. She started as a social worker for members residing at Ellisville State School, a residential program providing comprehensive services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2008, Mrs. Franklin began working with individuals with Severe & Persistent Mental Illness. Early in her career, she supported clients in both individual and group settings, assisting those facing challenges such as substance abuse, mental health symptoms, and anger management. Her experience with both developmentally delayed individuals and those with mental health challenges deepened her commitment to helping the less fortunate, even after relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2011. Since moving to Atlanta, she has served in various roles, including direct practice and leadership positions. Mrs. Franklin has maintained her clinical skills by providing individual therapy as an independent contract therapist, even while holding leadership roles. She believes that helping individuals recognize their resilience, identify and build support systems, and applying solution-focused therapy are foundational to healing and recovery. Her extensive experience with evidence-based approaches enables her to effectively address emotional and behavioral issues in individuals from diverse backgrounds. Mrs. Franklin holds both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi.
