Getting to know Stacy Stempka

Hello, I'm Stacy. I have a strong background in trauma-informed care, working with children and adults experiencing a range of symptoms with diagnoses including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I bring a full toolkit of interventions, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe my greatest strength as a therapist is in connecting with clients without judgment and my strong commitment to client-driven care. I believe you have the answers within you, and my job is to give you the tools to access them. I received my Master of Social Work at the University of Maryland and have over ten years of social work experience. I also have an additional four years of experience as a high school teacher. Although I am relatively new to telehealth, with the bulk of my experience as an in-person therapist, I have found telehealth to be a great modality, allowing clients the flexibility to fit in sessions from any location without the hassle of commuting. I have seen clients anywhere from in their cars during their lunch breaks or, more typically, from the comfort of their own home where they can process in their safe space.
