Psychotherapist
390 Wilinau Rd, Haleiwa, HI
I'm Dr. Stephanie Bathurst, Clinical Sexologist, Relationship Therapist, Certified Integrative Mental Health Specialist, PFilates Instructor, and EMDR Trauma Recovery Therapist. I use communication and intimacy to create fulfilling relationships. Particularly, I connect with romantic partners who have finally reached their limit of tolerance for the way life has demanded self-sacrifice. I am an expertly trained, deeply empathetic clinical guide on your life journey toward a more connected Self and more fulfilling Relationship. I own a private practice, Bathurst Family Therapy, located in Oahu, HI, and am licensed in the states of HI, VA, MD, and FL as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I'm also a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist in the US. I integrate a holistic and traditional approach in my work with individuals and relationships to treat clients with mood disorders, sexual difficulties, and relationship instability that impair their quality of life and quality of relationship. I help clients embrace what it means to be healthy, connected, and sexual with themselves and their partners. I also offer education on herbal sourcing and supplementation as a conjunctive wellness treatment. I earned my Master's in Clinical Counseling from La Salle University and hold a PhD from the International Institute of Clinical Sexology. When I was an undergraduate student, I traveled to Honduras with a group of students. We volunteered to build infrastructure for the local community and orphanages. I can vividly recall walking into a room of young children aching for human affection from touch starvation. I felt their longing viscerally-at a core depth of human connection that is almost inexplicable. We do what we do in hopes that fewer people feel that painful longing for connection in this world. At the end of the day, we are all human, and every single human is built to experience affectionate touch, to feel loved, and to desire a sense of belonging with others.
