Susan McGilloway, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Hi! I'm Susan, a licensed clinical therapist at Tava. Welcome to my virtual world - a safe non-judgmental space. I began my therapy career engaging in career counseling at a community college. I graduated with master’s degrees in psychology and mental health counseling when I was in my sixties. I became a therapist to help others thrive personally and in their relationships. I specialize in relationship issues, trauma (including pregnancy/delivery/post-partum), and PTSD. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - a safe method that focuses on transforming distress into peace and wellbeing. Often when we think of trauma, we visualize this earthshaking incident or event, but trauma is really any situation that has left us with distress. I work with adults as individuals and couples and consider us partners in the healing process. We work together to achieve your therapy goals. One of the most important initial steps is getting to know each other. I live in Maryland with my dog, Coco and love to read mysteries and spy thrillers.
