Hello, I'm Susan, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Arizona. I graduated from Lehigh University in 2005 with a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and Human Services. With over a decade of experience, I have been credentialed in distance counseling for many years and have been practicing telehealth since January 2019. My journey in the field of mental health has equipped me with extensive training and experience in working with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and chronic and serious illnesses.
Since 2009, I have been using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am credentialed through the EMDR Institute. I offer EMDR sessions online, providing a flexible and effective way to address trauma and other concerns. My career has been diverse, spanning academia at both the high school and university levels, business as a chief audit executive, and counseling in various clinical settings since 2004. Additionally, I provide career counseling to help clients navigate their professional paths.
My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices, including mindful meditation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), talk therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. As a certified clinical hypnotherapist through the Wellness Center in Washington State, I incorporate clinical hypnotherapy into my practice, an approach also utilized at the Cleveland Clinic in Integrated Medicine.
