Getting to know Sydney Heath

Hi, I'm Sydney! I specialize in working with adults who feel stuck in old patterns, struggle with body image or relationship concerns, or are navigating major life transitions. I offer a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel seen, accepted, and understood, and where healing can begin through a trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach integrates psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy with evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am a graduate of Columbia University's MSW program, and have spent time working in both an eating disorder treatment center as well as in a high school setting, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use alongside eating disorder recovery. My goal is to help clients develop deeper self-understanding, self-trust, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves to support meaningful, lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a warm, compassionate, and collaborative therapy experience. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and never judged. All parts of you are welcome. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. My approach blends insight-oriented work with practical tools. Together, we may explore how past experiences and relationships influence current patterns, while also learning skills to help you navigate emotions, thoughts, and behaviors more effectively. I draw from psychodynamic and interpersonal therapy, as well as evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, tailoring our work to your unique needs and goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I value curiosity, honesty, and self-compassion in the therapeutic process. At times, our work may feel reflective and exploratory; at other times, it may be more skills-focused and grounding. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, build trust in your inner experience, and create meaningful, lasting change while feeling supported every step of the way.

Sydney has been very helpful and empathetic. I signed up for Sol Health during a time when I was feeling very down emotionally and I am glad to work with her. She makes care feel easy, which is not always the case.
Sydney has been great to work with. She is a great listener, and most importantly, she just 'gets' what I'm trying to say right away. She made me feel seen in a very long time.
