Getting to know Dr. Sylvie Saintus
Welcome! If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’re just surviving instead of thriving—you are not alone. Maybe you’ve been the strong one for everyone else but struggle to show up for yourself. Perhaps you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or simply asking, “What is my purpose?” I help people like you disrupt old patterns, elevate their mindset, set healthy boundaries, rebuild their self-worth, and step into a more fulfilled, emotionally grounded life.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with adults, children, and families across a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. I hold a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University, a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, and a Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness, and Christian counseling for those who desire it. I also believe in the healing power of humor and human connection.
You already have so much strength within you—I’m simply here to help you tap into it. Please note: I am not a nurse practitioner or medical doctor and do not prescribe medication.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and rooted in mutual respect. I’m not here to “fix” you—because you are not broken. I’m here to help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your purpose, and step into the version of yourself you know is possible. I bring a personable and compassionate approach to our work together, while also offering the gentle challenge and accountability needed for real growth.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in survival mode or ready to catapult into the life of your dreams, I’ll help you reflect, reframe, and rewire the patterns that no longer serve you. I’m especially passionate about helping individuals who feel like they’ve been carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders—those who are ready to stop pouring from an empty cup and start prioritizing their own healing.
If you value authenticity, faith-informed guidance, and real conversations that lead to transformation, we’ll work well together. You’ll be seen, heard, and supported in ways that feel safe, affirming, and empowering.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
During our first few sessions, I focus on understanding the full picture—your background, current challenges, and hopes for the future. Together, we’ll identify goals and begin creating a roadmap that aligns with your values and emotional needs. I use a collaborative, client-centered approach, meaning our sessions are tailored to your pace and preferences.
You can expect a mix of reflective conversation, practical tools, and strategies you can apply between sessions. We’ll explore your thoughts, behaviors, and belief systems using techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness. If you’re open to it, I also offer Christian counseling to help you deepen your spiritual and emotional connection.
My goal is to help you experience lasting transformation—not just temporary relief. Over time, therapy becomes a space for deep self-exploration, honest conversations, healthy boundary-setting, and the kind of healing that changes not just your habits, but your whole life. Let’s work together to help you grow, heal, and thrive.

After looking for a therapist for a long time I felt defeated. I was very worried about finding someone who would be a good fit for me. It was nice to finally talk to someone who could understand me. She was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. She was also able to accommodate my schedule. I can’t wait for the next appointment.
