Getting to know Tasha Frederick

I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic health concerns, challenges coping with changes to their lives, trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting concerns, and many other life-altering experiences. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor's degree from South Carolina State University. Motivated clients who are ready to roll up their sleeves and do the work are a good fit with me, because I am a motivated provider, enthusiastic about helping you reach your goals and create the satisfaction you desire.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I aim to create a safe, welcoming space for discussion, using humor and other relationship-building strategies to build a good connection. Your knowledge about you and your needs will be the guiding light that directs our work together. I use many types of therapy and am always willing to stop, listen to your feedback, and take a different approach. I am passionate about this work because I genuinely love and appreciate people. Being gifted with the opportunity to be a part of someone's healing journey is not something I take lightly, and I aim to show how much that gift means to me with every interaction. I hope you will reach out soon so that we can begin our work together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we'll take the time to get to know each other. We'll ask questions—I'll answer yours, too! I'll gather information about what brought you to therapy, and together we'll determine if we're a good fit. We'll outline your goals and discuss the next steps for our work together. A typical session with me lasts about 50 to 55 minutes. We'll start with a quick check-in, where I'll ask about your week and see if there are any urgent concerns you'd like to discuss. Then we'll review any work you focused on between sessions and dive into the planned topics for that week. Usually, you'll have an idea of what to expect, as we'll wrap up most sessions with a closing activity, a discussion about our next steps, and a summary of the work you'll do before our next meeting.

Tasha Frederick radiates professionalism, kindness and genuine care and concern. Her bedside manner is probably one of her most important qualities. In general, people don't care what you know until they know you care. Immediately, I was at ease and ready to listen to her with an open mind and heart.
I felt heard by Ms Tasha. She listened and validated while also challenged my thinking and defense mechanisms. Tasha created an environment where I felt safe, and was able to speak freely and share my experiences without judgement or bias.
Being a fist time mom PostPartum Depression hit me very hard. I had many , many tough days. Tasha was my safe haven. She has been available to me anytime i needed her. She allowed me to express myself without judgment & walked me through each emotion. She constantly reminded me that i was a great mother. i was doing wonderful & that it was normal for me to have the emotions & feelings that i was having. i don’t know what i would have done without her.
My visit went well. I felt completely comfortable and willing to open up to her. Thank you again and I'll definitely recommend you to anyone that needs your services.
Going into therapy leaves you with a lot of “what if’s” and “how will this benefit me”. Well after meeting with Tasha, she brought on a sense of calmness allowing me to open up freely and express myself like I’ve never done before. I learned so much about myself and what was necessary for me to let go of in order to move forward in life. I would recommend Tasha a thousand times to anyone that’s not sure but ready to try therapy out! Also, being able to do virtual visits worked well with my work and school sh or days I didn’t want to leave my house. Thank you again!!
I know that I am heard and that I have a therapist who takes the time to figure out the best plan of action. She has amazing bedside manner and is truly such a caring, kind individual.
Truly a therapist that cares about her clients wellbeing. She has a calmness about her that makes you feel comfortable from the very first visit.
