Getting to know Taylor Melton

**ATTENTION: We accept BCBS, Aetna, and United Healthcare PPO plans only.** **Please expect an email from Elevate Counseling with the online paperwork that must I feel like a lot of people want to change to become their best self but don’t know where to begin. That's where I come in! As your therapist, I strive to make therapy a safe and open space for you to share, process, and ultimately grow. Therapy can often be intimidating, but I want your experience with me to be holistic, collaborative, and authentic. *What To Expect from Our Work Together* You can expect to be welcomed into a space that allows you to openly feel all emotions and be supported as you work through improving your mental health and well-being. I believe we both should bring our authentic selves to therapy to promote healing and growth, as building relationships and connections are the most important and powerful parts of the work I do. When it comes to treating trauma, I believe self-compassion and accountability are key. I will always approach you with compassion and empathy but also expect healthy boundaries and accountability to foster change. That means I’ll call it like I see it! You can expect to be challenged by me in session while also feeling understood and supported, as I will be your advocate and cheerleader during your journey. *What You Need to Know About Me* If I could describe myself in three words, it would be expressive, authentic, and silly. I’m originally from Southern California—I was born in San Diego and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, so I guess technically I’m a valley girl too. Being from Southern California, I have an unconditional love for the sun, beach, and Mexican food. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to move far away for college with dreams of being a civil rights attorney. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University.
