Hello, I'm Teri. I work with adults who are struggling with making changes in their lives. You might feel stuck in habits, addictions, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships, or unfulfilling work situations. The common thread is that you are not living the life you want but rather are living from your limited programming and conditioning. Through understanding human psychological functioning and the deeper spiritual nature of being human, I help clients come back to their innate well-being. Understanding the role that thought plays in creating the reality you see makes the difference between being at the mercy of reactive thinking (mental stress and suffering) and being empowered by the natural intelligence that is always seeking balance and equilibrium. Wisdom, resilience, freedom, and well-being naturally reside within you. I received my M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. My early career was spent working through the school system with kids who were considered high risk, providing counseling and support for them and their families. Many of these kids were diagnosed with some type of learning disability. I saw how detrimental a learning disability can be to their sense of self and became passionate about helping them see who they were beyond the label. This passion led me to open a business, providing cognitive skills training to kids who struggle with learning. I continued to provide counseling and support to families navigating the world of a special needs child. I also served on the board of directors for Empowering Young Women, a conference for middle school girls through the University of Missouri. The purpose of EYW is to help adolescent girls develop a personal sense of identity so they can make good choices at this pivotal developmental stage of their lives.
