Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to turn next? As a doctoral-level psychotherapist, I provide a safe, respectful, and confidential space to help you work through life’s challenges. I work with individuals of all ages, from children and adolescents to adults and older adults. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, trauma, or life transitions, I work collaboratively with you to understand what’s happening and how to move forward. My background includes work in Community Mental Health in Louisville, KY, hospital-based care in New Orleans, LA, and school-based services for children with the Milwaukee Public School system. These diverse experiences have given me a deep understanding of the many ways mental health concerns can affect people across the lifespan—and how psychotherapy can help. My therapeutic style is supportive, direct, and goal-oriented. I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful patterns in thinking and behavior. CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that’s effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and stress. Sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs, always delivered with compassion and respect. Sessions are typically one hour per week, and I offer flexible payment options to help address potential insurance issues. If you’re ready to take the next step, it would be a pleasure to help support you or your loved one on the path to healing and growth. ________________________________________

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Psychotherapy is a process that facilitated by the therapist. The more experienced a therapist, the more likely it is that that patient will reach their goals. While each person’s experience is unique, most therapy follows a general path: 1. Getting Started (Building Trust): In the beginning, the focus is on creating a safe and supportive space. Building trust and comfort is the foundation for open and honest conversations. 2. Understanding Your Story: We’ll take time to explore your concerns, personal history, and strengths. This helps us understand what’s going on and what might be contributing to the challenges you’re facing. 3. Setting Goals Together: Once we have a clear picture, we’ll decide together what you’d like to achieve in therapy. These goals give us direction and help track your progress along the way. 4. Working on Change: This is the heart of therapy. Using proven approaches, we’ll work on new ways of thinking, coping, and making changes that move you toward your goals. 5. Checking In and Adjusting: Throughout the process, we’ll regularly review how things are going. If something isn’t working, we’ll make adjustments so therapy continues to be helpful and relevant to you. 6. Wrapping Up and Moving Forward: When you’ve met your goals and feel more confident, we’ll plan a gradual ending. This step focuses on celebrating progress, strengthening what you’ve learned, and preparing you to continue your growth on your own.
