Hi there, I'm Tina! My name is Tina Owen, LCSW, and I am licensed in Louisiana with over 15 years of professional experience in the behavioral health field. I earned my Master?s in Social Work (MSSW) in 2017 from the University of Louisville's Kent School of Social Work. My approach Each client is unique, so therapy should be too! We will work together to determine what therapeutic approach works best for you and create an individualized plan of care. You are the expert on your own life; I am just here to help guide the way :) My focus I work with clients age 18 and older. I have experience helping clients with PTSD/CPTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, LGBTQ+ related issues, and depression. I am highly specialized in working with adults who have experienced childhood interpersonal trauma, including sexual abuse. My communication style My style is pretty laid back and humorous, while also affirming. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to feel heard, understood, and valued. I work with my clients to create an open and collaborative environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I began my journey in the mental health field in 2005 when I started working on my Associate?s degree. I fell in love with psychology and knew I wanted to help people with their mental health. As someone who has achieved much personal growth with support from therapy in my lifetime, I want to be a part of others? healing journeys as well :) My goals for you Clients can expect to work with me to formulate and work toward goals that help improve their everyday lives. I provide homework assignments so clients can practice skills we discuss during sessions, and we review assignments together to foster a strong therapeutic relationship and work toward desired outcomes. My first session with you During our first session, clients can expect to share some background information related to past mental health history.
