Trystan Balderston, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Early in life I realized how meaningful it is to be a part of someone's journey to wellness and healing. At first, I believed my passion would thrive in the field of physical health. I went to Towson University and received a B.S. in exercise science. Working as a personal trainer at the time, I realized how intertwined our mental and physical well-being truly are. During the pandemic, I decided to begin construction of the bridge between mental and physical health. I enrolled at Walden University and received an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I work with teens and adults to help navigate anxiety, depression, chronic pain and life transitions by bridging the gap between the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of self.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a holistic approach where we will explore your unique combination of values, strengths, and experiences to build self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-efficacy on your clear path to wellness. You are the expert on your life. During this process we will uncover how your life experiences have been stored in your mind and body, influencing your sense and expression of self. Through healing the relationships between your mind, body, and spirit you will develop the skills to lead a fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions typically begin with a mindfulness exercise to connect with the present moment. This space is yours, and I invite you to set a goal, or intention, for each session. We will explore the impact of past and present experiences through engagement with somatic (body based) strategies, and cognitive (thought based) strategies.
